Twice in the last few months we've had two different machines bsod and while in that state, bring down half of our network. It's somehow flooding the switch, and the switch it's uplinked to, preventing either of them from passing any traffic. I don't see anything out of the ordinary on wireshark, but I don't really know what I'm looking for. Spanning Tree and Storm Control failed to make any difference (with their current configuration). What is causing this and how can I prevent it in the future?

Best Practice for N3024F Redudancy
Hi All,
Currently I have one switch N3024F that works as Core Switch. Now I have plan to buy another one N3024F for redundancy. I was thinking about to Stacking or using VRRP, I dont know is my think is right, still in doubt.
Can you give suggestion to creating best practice for Redundancy and High Availibility for this, If I want to using scenario :
1. Active - Active
2. Active - Backup
Please kindly need your help.
VRTX LAG on H3C switches
Hi all,
I have a VRTX server witch is connected to the H3C switches and the LAG is not working.
I try several configuration on the H3C switch and on the Dell and it can only work on 1000M.
I want to make a 2000M.
Any idea?

X1052P and Printer Problems
Hi, i have installed an X1052P switch, basic config one vlan1 (default) static ip and uploaded the latest firmware etc.
I have no devices plugged into the switch. when i up-link the switch to the network (plug into spare port on other switch) some of our printers slow down and take about 30 mins to print out 1 sheet. If i unplug the switch printing eventually goes back to a couple of seconds to print a sheet.
It only seems to be specific printers, i have no other devices on the switch, the printers are plugged into a different switch.
Any ideas why this might happen ?

Trying to change Native VLAN/PVID on all ports on Powerconnect 5524P
I have a Powerconnect 5524P and I am trying to figure out how I can (from the console) change all ports to belong to PVID 50 and be tagged. Right now, PVID is 1 for all ports.
I am trying to set up a test environment for VoIP where I will configure some test phones to belong to VLAN 50 (this will be configured on the phone itself) so that when they plug into the switch, they are able to connect. Any device that does not belong to VLAN 50 should not be able to connect.
I have been googling and searching in the manual but I can't find a definitive answer. I even tried a factory reset, but for some reason I couldn't figure that out either, despite having done it a few times in the past.
Any help is appreciated.

6248 stack not responding to pings or http
We have a stack of four 6248 switches running v3.3.3.3 firmware, which used to be pingable and I could access via http, but since one of my colleagues did some work on them a few months ago, we can do neither. Although I have access through the serial port, the stack handles all the traffic for our Head Office network, so I'm reluctant to interfere as I don't really know enough to diagnose the issue without affecting all our users and processes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers, Stu
Cannot ping ip route gateway ip address
Hi Inter-vlan routing is working and DHCP serves to lease IP addresses correctly. ISP has configured interfaces for Internet breakout but although I can ping all vlan routed ip addresses connected I cannot ping the gateway IP even though it is on the same subnet as successfully connected devices.
Through a flat network using Netgear switches Internet breakout is fine. Does any one have any advice?
Thank you.

N2048P memory stack error
Hi all,
I have 3 stacked N2048P switches. For some reason i couldn't found, we started getting this errors:

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you resolve it?

Force10 MXL for non-converged use - fortygige port in switchport mode?
There's not much documentation on the various use cases of the MXL. All the docs seem to presume that this is for SAN use and that you'll be trunking to a top-of-rack switch.
The MXL docs don't do a great job of highlighting the supposed additional capabilities of the MXL versus the IOA.
I don't need this for any SAN, I just need a simple high-throughput LAN.
Is it possible to use the MXL's external QSFP+ ports to directly attach to a 40 GbE NIC such as the intel XL710-QDA2, or Mellanox ConectX-3 series?
For instance:
-intel X520 mezzanine NICs on my blade servers' B fabric
-Force10 MXL I/O modules in B1 and B2 slots
-intel XL710 NICs on my rack servers, using direct-attach QSFP+ cables plugged into the MXL's QSFP+ ports in a fortygige switchport (that is, NON-breakout mode)
Can anyone confirm that this works? Thanks
Stacking N4032 Switches
I currently have two N40302 switches in a stack & acting as a VLAN master with layer3 routing.
I have an additional (3rd) N4032 switch in production and have also purchased a new (4th) N4032.
I wish to have all 4 switches participate in the same stack in a ring topology. (I know firmware needs to be identical)
I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can answer:
1) Once all switches are stacked, will VLANS and Routing be maintained if any one of the switches fail?
2) Will the existing config. in the third switch be removed if it is added to the stack?
Dell 6224 Switch and 10Gb modules
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to purchase several XFP 10Gb modules for these switches (FJ727) but I've seen these advertised as 0FJ727 and FJ727. I could not see any differences but I wanted to make sure. I will NOT be using these for stacking (I will be connecting various servers/NAS that have 10Gb cards with SFP+).
Can anyone tell me if there is a difference?
Thank you
Losing packets between switches
Hi, I have a 6248 and a N1548P they are linked through an UTP cable, the problem is that I'm having constantly packet loss when I ping from the 6248 to the N1548P.
I've already tested the cable and it is not the cause.
As the N1548P is a POE switch, is there any problem with connecting it to the 6248 which is not POE ?
Also, on RMON Statistics I've seen oversize packets on the port used for the uplink what is that means?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
EDIT: Also seeing lots of Internal MAC Receive Errors on the uplink port what is that mean?
PowerConnect M8024 is not communicating 10Gb
In I have a M1000e chassis with two M8024-K switches, and one of them came to give problems and we temporarily put an M8024 switch to replace an M8024-K that presented problems, however we are working with 10 Gb interfaces, in this switch we just Install (M8024) is communicating with the blades at 1 Gb, the setting is in "Auto Trading".
I noticed that from my Ethernet Switch until the Switch M8024 is 10 Gb however the Switch to the Blade comes to 1 Gb, we have already changed the configuration of the switch to 10000 Full on the ports and interface of the host esxi, however there was no success.
Would they have a solution?

DELL N1548 in redundant scenario
I'm going to setup n.4 DELL N1548 switches; they are linked throught uplink ports (10GB) as you can see in the image attached. There are n.3 servers; each server has n.2 NICs mounted using bonding mode 6 (balance-alb - Adaptive Load Balancing ) linked to 2 different switch.
Could you give me some advices on how to configure a redundant scenario with those switches ? STP, LACP, routing, etc
